JOHNS HOPKINS’ CRANBERRY-CLAd A CAPPELLA GROUP

The Vocal Chords is an all-gender a cappella group known for their close-knit family dynamic and outstanding musicianship. Fondly dubbed as Hopkins’ “friendly neighborhood a cappella group,” they perform throughout the DMV region, from smaller student-centered events at various college campuses to performances at venues like the Carnegie Library and Washington D.C.’s Capital One Arena.

Founded in 1995, the group began their time on campus with just seven members, singing barbershop and school spirit songs. Since then, the group has transformed into a vibrant ensemble of eighteen student musicians, performing a wide variety of music styles and competing annually in national a cappella competitions. With a passion for collaboration with groups big and small and a diverse repertoire featuring flavorful and unique arrangements across dozens of genres, we remain dedicated to sharing our love for music and creating memorable and enjoyable experiences for all who listen.
